REGISTRATION CLOSED.
Lowry Hill Gallery & Case Edgerton Studios looks forward to co-hosting a life drawing session at Case Edgerton Studios in East St. Paul this fall. The day-long session will take place on Saturday, October 10. This event is presented in conjunction with Parallel Practice, an exhibition of life drawings by six gallery and guest artists, on view at Lowry Hill Gallery September 12 - October 17, 2026.
Following the drawing session on October 10, Case Edgerton will host an open house from 5-8pm, displaying works made throughout the day - all are welcome to attend.
From the artist leads, Jessie Fisher & Scott Seebart of Case Edgerton Studios:
For 3 years, Michael Banning, Dan Bruggeman, Jessie Fisher, Michael Kareken, Carl Oltvedt and Scott Seebart have come together nearly every two weeks to draw from the model at a studio on West 7th and in a sanctuary in St Paul. This drawing session will be held in the sanctuary (580 Case Ave E, St. Paul, MN 55130). Of particular interest in this session is the challenge of drawing from two models. As a structure, we will follow a similar progression and duration of poses that the group has continuously been exploring.
Some of the things that are important to this group of artists are to work in concert with one another, the willingness to engage in improvisation and experimentation, and the recognition of the importance of the drawing process itself rather than focusing on its outcome. The importance of coming together as a group to work from the model is not simply to hone one’s skills, but to actively learn from each other. A reception following our drawing session will show all of the work completed throughout the day, giving artists and guests an opportunity to see the variety of responses possible from a shared prompt.
